Inspiration won't come to you; you must search it out.

I am currently working on encouraging my creativity. As I get older, I'm learning more of the importance of discipline and the need for it to achieve what I want to achieve. This need shows itself in every area of my life including in the art of songwriting and music. The reason that not everyone who wants to write songs actually write songs is, I believe, mostly due to the fact that they wrongly approach songwriting as a product of pure inspiration and don't put the appropriate amount of work into the process. Songwriting and other products of creativity is an art, not a gift. Yes, I believe that some may be more naturally inclined to take part in creative endeavors but even some people born with "the gift" don't work on their art and their product is not fruitful. Creativity is like a baby (...?) Yeah, it's like a baby. You have to nurture it; work on it for it to grow. This is what I am currently learning and I am trying to nurture my creativity and see what comes out. Inspiration won't come to me so I must search it out. This has been a couple days thus far of experimentation and below is something that came out.

Truth

Truth is not a thing to given,
Except from above.
Nor is it a thing that is to be hidden,
But exalted high with Him in love.

And no one can say he knows the truth,
If he knows not the one who says "I AM".
And that one is not the giver but the pursuit
The gift itself: Truth embodied in man.
